What is disinfecting?Disinfecting is the process of killing germs. This includes, bacteria, fungus, and viruses. Disinfectant solution is sprayed on surfaces and allowed to dwell for a specific amount of time. As the chemical dries it destroys microorganisms leaving the area free of most harmful pathogens. Disinfecting is stronger than sanitizing, which has a siginficantly lower effective kill rate. That said, all disinfection chemicals & services are not built the same. If there is a specific pathogen you are trying to kill, make sure it is included in the kill claims of the chemical being used.

What type of pathogens is this service effective against? Our main disinfectant is effective against 27 micro-organisms including COVID19, MRSA, VRE, Norovirus, Influenza A, Hepatitis B & C, Staphylococcus, Salmonella, E-Coli, and HIV. If you would like to see the efficacy summary of our disinfectants which outlines the full list, simply ask! We'll be happy to send it over to you.

Can you tell me more about the chemical you use to disinfect?Absolutely! One of the pillars of our business is to disinfect in the most environmentally conscious way while mitigating human risk. Hydrogen peroxide is the active ingredient in the general use disinfectant we use which is 1 of only 8 active disinfectant ingredients recommended by the EPA and Green Seal for safer cleaning. Furthermore, the EPA has hydrogen peroxide as an active ingredient that can be considered for it's Design for the Enviornment Logo which must meet the Safer Choice Standard. Hydrogen peroxide biodegrades into water and oxygen. And unlike several other common disinfectants like quaternary ammonium, which can cause severe respiratory issues, hydrogen peroxide poses minimal human risk. Finally, hydrogen peroxide also has one of the fastest kill claims in the entire industry! Our disinfectant kills most pathogens in one minute. If you would like to see specific chemical data, ask us for our Safety Data Sheet and Efficacy Sheet.

How long do I need to be out of my space for?Technically, no respitory, eye, or dermal personal protective equipment (PPE) is required under normal conditions if there is proper ventiliation. However, we recommend a minimum of 30 minutes of dwell time before returning to your space.
-
How long does a typical disinfection take? This really depends on the size of your space, however, most disinfection services take anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour. Obviously, larger spaces may require more time, and small spaces may require less.
-
Is your disinfection solution safe on fabrics and electronics?Yes! Our spraying is generally done at only 40 microns (about half the width of a human hair) so it leaves only fine mist over objects which is safe for almost all electonics. As for fabrics, our disinfectant is 100% safe for almost all fabrics. It is a non-corrosive, non-bleaching, non-irritant, and non-rinsing formula.

What is electrostatic spraying? How important is it?With electrostatic spraying, disinfectant is positively charged when sprayed which creates a magnetic attraction between the positively charged solution and negatively charged objects in your space. This causes the disinfectant to wrap around and adhere to things, including appliances, electronics, and other high use objects that are often hard wipe. The spray is a light mist of only 40 microns and due to the electromagnetic dispersion, it leaves a very thin and even coat on every surface. Think of it like 360 degree coverage. While we do feel electrostatic spraying is an important part of disinfecting, it is only effective in some enviornments and with certain objects. Therefore, it's good to have a disinfection plan that utilizes multiple methods. This is why we use traditional spraying in combination with electrostatic spraying and offer an optional wipe down services as well.
